About This Course

Course Introduction

Holographic Tongue Assessment, taught by Instructor Wu Chunmei, follows a standardized, objective, direct, and visual approach to learning tongue assessment. It expands from individual zang-fu identification to multidimensional observation involving the five zang and six fu organs, limbs, the whole body, and the sensory organs. Learners develop observation cues from tongue shape, color, raised or depressed areas, tooth marks, red spots, and the tip, sides, center, and root. The course is suitable for beginners interested in TCM and as a supplement to the pattern-differentiation reasoning of TCM practitioners, wellness practitioners, and health-management professionals. Comparisons before and after regulation, remote image observation, and case studies help learners visualize changes in physical condition.

Learn Step by Step

What You Will Learn

  • You will study foundational locations in holographic tongue assessment; observation methods for upper-, middle-, and lower-burner systems; and cases involving dizziness, sleep, spleen-stomach and liver-gallbladder concerns, men's and women's health, and children's constitutions. Additional materials cover constitution-based tongue assessment, pediatric tongue assessment, and holographic tongue diagrams, developing a study approach of observing tongue appearance, recording changes, and understanding constitutional tendencies.

  • After the course, you can observe tongue shape, color, coating, tip, and edges more systematically, understand their relationships to bodily condition, and use tongue assessment as a supplementary observational tool in TCM study and health consultation.

Student Feedback

I used to look only at tongue coating. After studying, I learned that the tip, sides, center, and root each have different observation priorities.
